Some places shape the way a wedding feels.
First Light, tucked into the forest in Tofino, is one of those places. Ocean air moving through the trees, quiet pockets of space to gather, and the kind of west coast landscape that makes everything slow down a little.
K and J’s ceremony fit into that atmosphere effortlessly. The backdrop was a macrame piece K wove herself using ocean-salvaged materials. Luxfino transformed the space with their cozy “Cuddle Puddle” setup, and the evening ended with a beautiful coastal dinner catered by Green Waves. The whole day felt deeply connected to this place, simple, creative, and very west coast.
The morning started slowly at First Light, tucked into the forest in Tofino and hosted by Erika from Blue Crush Concierge. Between the tall trees and the ocean air drifting through the property, it’s the kind of place that immediately makes you slow down.
It felt like the perfect setting for K and J’s intimate ceremony.
Inside the Airbnb, soft light poured through the windows as everyone moved through the quiet rhythm of the morning, getting dressed, sharing a few laughs, and soaking in those calm moments before the ceremony begins.
Luxfino styled the ceremony space with natural textures that felt right at home on the west coast. At the center of the setup hung a piece that carried special meaning. K, a macrame artist based in Ucluelet, created the ceremony installation herself.
Driftwood, rope, and woven textures framed the moment they stood together, bringing a piece of the shoreline into the ceremony itself. With the forest surrounding them and the ocean just beyond, the ceremony felt quiet, grounded, and deeply connected to place.
After the ceremony, K and J took a few moments to step away together and wander the property at First Light.
Tucked into the forest and surrounded by ocean air, the property offers endless little pockets for quiet moments, including stunning open clearing with ocean views. These portraits felt less like a photoshoot and more like a pause in the day.
After soaking in these quiet moments togethter, K and J made their way to Luxfino’s signature “Cuddle Puddle,” a cozy lounge-style setup tucked into the forest and layered with rugs, soft seating, and warm textures.
With champagne poured and glasses raised, they took a quiet moment together to soak in the feeling of the day.
Right there in the middle of the space, the two of them shared their first dance.
Surrounded by the forest and the soft glow of the evening light, the moment felt intimate and unhurried, less like a performance and more like a memory unfolding naturally.
As the evening continued, the celebration carried on with a beautifully prepared dinner catered by Green Waves Tofino.
Fresh, thoughtful dishes brought everyone back around the table, where the night continued with conversation, laughter, and the slow rhythm of a west coast evening.
