N and A were visiting Tofino from New York and Toronto, staying at an oceanfront Airbnb right on Chesterman Beach. The plan for the evening was simple: N had dinner reservations lined up, but first, they wandered down to the beach to take a few photos where I was posted up in between some driftwood. It's during surprise proposals that I put on my best incognito skills!
And that’s when it happened, N popped the question. The soft sand, rolling waves, and moody west coast light made the moment feel quiet, intimate, and completely theirs. It was one of those perfect fleeting west coast moments that you never forget.
After celebrating, we headed over to South Chesterman Beach, the spot they’d requested, for some relaxed couple photos. The fog created a soft light, and the beach stretched out around them, giving us a few more beautiful, candid shots of them together.
It was a magical evening: a surprise proposal, ocean air, and a little slice of Tofino that will always be part of their story.
